Policies and Procedures
Dartmouth is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all community members and fostering an environment that does not tolerate sexual or gender-based harassment or discrimination, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, dating or domestic violence, provision of alcohol/drugs for purposes of prohibited conduct, or stalking. The policies and processes below are guidelines for Dartmouth's behavioral expectations and what to expect in the event that these expectations are violated.
Policies
Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Policy (SMP)
Dartmouth's Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Policy states that the College does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs or activities. Specifically, it prohibits the following types of conduct at Dartmouth:
- Sex and gender-based discrimination, sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, dating violence, domestic violence, provision of alcohol or other drugs for purposes of prohibited conduct, and stalking.
- Retaliation against an individual for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege secured by Title IX or its regulations, or because the individual has made a report of prohibited conduct; filed a formal complaint; or testified, assisted, or participated or refused to participate in any manner in an investigation, hearing, or resolution of an alleged violation of this policy.
- Exertion of power, supervision, or authority by one individual over another in relationships of a sexual or intimate nature.
